Police seeking driver who sped through Waikerie, then dumped car

POLICE are appealing to the public to help find the female driver of a Mazda sedan after she drove at excessive speed on the Sturt Highway through Waikerie this week.

A police media spokesman said police attempted to stop the car at about 4.15pm on Monday, but it sped off and was not pursued due to its speed.

Police located the car at Stockyard Plain, south-west of Waikerie, 20 minutes later, after it was abandoned by the female driver.

They are making further inquiries to locate the driver and question her in relation to Monday’s incident.
