Trials triumph for racing club

THE “overwhelming” success of last week’s first-ever barrier trials at Mindarie-Halidon Racing Club augers well for the club’s future, according to president Geoff Redden.

A bumper tally of 73 thoroughbreds galloped around the Halidon racecourse on Thursday, when some of the state’s top trainers and jockey descended on the track for 13 “practice races”.
