SA Health has maintained its support for new State Government ratio laws which Riverland medical staff have claimed are “failing to address poor working conditions” of rural and regional healthcare.

SA Health has maintained its support for new State Government ratio laws which Riverland medical staff have claimed are “failing to address poor working conditions” of rural and regional healthcare.

Striking nurses and midwives from the Berri-based Riverland General Hospital — speaking to The Murray Pioneer under the condition of anonymity — earlier this month claimed the new State Government patient ratio laws were inefficient for rural and regional hospitals, and instead, are set to enforce current “high pressure” workloads.
