THE Lions Club of Renmark has proudly donated $15,000 towards the construction of a new kennel in the redeveloped National Training Centre for Lions Assistance Dogs.

The cheque was presented to Lions Assistance Dogs chief executive officer David Horne, by Renmark Lions Club president Paul Farr, in recognition of the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting Australians who benefit from these life-changing dogs.

In addition to this generous donation, the club supports the Lions Assistance Dogs program through the sponsorship of ‘Murray’, a future assistance dog currently completing the puppy and training programs. The Renmark Lions receive regular monthly updates on Murray’s progress and are proud to be part of his journey to become a fully qualified assistance dog.

The club’s connection with the program continues to grow, with one of its members preparing to become the first volunteer puppy carer in the Riverland. This marks an exciting milestone for the region, as Lions Assistance Dogs hopes to expand its puppy carer network and inspire more community members to get involved.

“The support we receive from Lions Clubs across Australia, including that from the Lions Club of Renmark, makes an incredible difference,” said Lions Assistance Dogs CEO David Horne.

“Their generosity and involvement ensure we can continue to train and provide these remarkable dogs, at no cost, to Australians who really need them.”
