Mayor says election shift about ‘trust’

RENMARK Paringa’s mayor has echoed sentiments of his local colleagues that a need to maintain transparent democracy means a delay to the 2026 SA council elections may be necessary.

The State Government is tomorrow set to vote on a request from the South Australian Electoral Commission (ECSA) to postpone the local government elections from November this year to April 2027.
