Speeding, disqualified driver stopped at Monash

At About 5.15pm on Sunday, May 31, police were conducting speed detection duties, on the Sturt Highway, when a Toyota utility was detected travelling 91km/h, in an 80km/h zone.

Speeding, disqualified driver stopped at Monash

A LOCAL driver was arrested after being stopped by police while speeding, on the Sturt Highway, near Monash.

At About 5.15pm on Sunday, May 31, police were conducting speed detection duties, on the Sturt Highway, when a Toyota utility was detected travelling 91km/h, in an 80km/h zone.

It will be alleged the driver was submitted to a Random Breath Test (RBT) and returned a positive result of 0.066.

Police also said it will further be alleged he tested positive to methamphetamine and checks on his licence showed he was disqualified.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, from Paringa, was arrested and charged with drink driving and driving while disqualified.

He was bailed to appear in the Berri Magistrates Court on July 1.
