Roundabouts promised? We’ll see

INTERESTING news the State and Federal Governments are prepared to spend money installing roundabouts at each end of the Sturt Highway and the old Sturt Highway intersections.

I recall attending a meeting around 1994 in the council chambers which was held by State Government representatives who explained and showed detailed plans of their proposals for these intersections.

The proposal was for two very large roundabouts; so large a semi could manoeuvre around them at 80km/h.

So, being that was 27 years ago, I don’t think we should get too excited about it. Somehow I don’t think I will be seeing it in my lifetime.
