Riverland reaps Dining Cashback benefits

RIVERLANDERS are using the benefits of a state-wide cashback program to enjoy fresh seafood brought straight to the region.

The mobile Michalantos Fisheries seafood outlet is a regular visitor to many Riverland towns, and is a participating business in the Federal and State Government’s Summer Plan Dining Cashback program.

The program is giving locals the opportunity to receive up to 50 per cent cashback, up to the value of $50, when they support participating coastal hospitality businesses or South Australian seafood retailers.

South Australians aged 18 and over can enter the ballot now via south australia.com/diningcashback, for a chance to win a Dining Cashback in the next draw on January 2, 2026.

Operator Peter Michalantos said many Riverland customers had been eager to take full advantage of the initiative.

“We’re getting lots of people who are using Dining Cashbacks to buy, and place orders, for Christmas,” he said.

“We’ve been doing this for three years now, so people know that what we have is high quality.

“We’re still getting the freshest seafood in and we’ve got everything from prawns, to whiting.

Mr Michalantos, who supplies local customers during visits to Renmark, Berri, Barmera and Waikerie, said building ongoing connections through the region was personally rewarding.

“This time of the year is always the busiest,” he said.

“But we come to the Riverland all throughout the year, as we want to keep supplying our regular customers.”

Riverlanders with cashbacks from the program’s second draw have until Thursday, January 1, 2026, to claim the rebate, before a third draw on January 2.
