River users warned as Lock 5 shutdown is closing in

The temporary shutdown is scheduled to begin in late April 2026 and is expected to continue for up to 23 weeks, as essential upgrades are carried out on the lock chamber infrastructure.

MURRAY River users are being reminded that the planned closure of Lock 5 is quickly approaching, with vessels set to lose navigation access through the Paringa lock for up to five months during major refurbishment works.
