Nominations open for 2026 Landcare Awards

RIVERLAND individuals, community groups and organisations working to protect the environment and promote sustainable agriculture are being encouraged to nominate for an important award aiming to recognise outstanding contributions to environmental conservation, land management and sustainable farming practices.
The 2026 State and Territory Landcare Awards, part of the Biennial Awards Program, are now open for nominations in areas such as climate action, environmental leadership, sustainable agriculture, First Nations leadership, women in landcare, youth participation, Coastcare and children’s environmental initiatives.
The awards are held every two years and acknowledge the contributions of Australians working to restore, enhance and protect the natural environment in communities across the country.
Successful recipients will become finalists in the 2027 National Landcare Awards and can be submitted across nine national award categories.
Entries are now open until July 31, with organisers advising there will be no extension to the deadline. Entries can be made by visiting the website (www.aulandcareawards.awardsplatform.com).
