More rural doctors on the way as Monash academy opens

AN Australian University is working to train more general practitioners (GPs) to work in rural areas nearby the Riverland.

The Monash Mildura GP Academy is now welcoming applications for 2027, with the dedicated primary care pathway open to graduate students who are Mildura-based, plus those who have lived in a rural area for at least five years, or 10 years non-consecutively.
