IN “the absence of a respectful offer” from the State Government regarding fair pay and improved work conditions, Riverland medical staff are set to intensify their industrial action — that leaders in the movement say will predominantly highlight the gaps in regional and rural healthcare — next month.

Riverland nurses and midwives — based at SA Health sites including the Berri-based Riverland General Hospital and Barmera Health Service — and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation (ANMF) SA branch hosted two rallies last week, demanding fair pay and improved working conditions as part of now months-long enterprise agreement negotiations with the State Government.
