Magical night awaits at this year’s gala

A MAGICAL night of “fantastic” food, company, and entertainment is promised to locals who attend one of the most beloved events of the upcoming Riverland Rose and Garden Festival next month.

The Riverland Rose and Garden Festival Gala Dinner will be taking over the Renmark Club on Friday, October 9, with this year’s celebration encouraging locals to once again don their best outfits and to enjoy an evening of bubbles, food, and river views.

“We’re really excited about this year’s gala – taking place on the newly renovated Renmark Club deck just promises an amazing night, with even better views,” Riverland Rose and Garden committee member, and Gala Dinner co-ordinator, Glenda Kelly said.

“We just welcome everyone to come along and enjoy this amazing event.

“While this is an event associated with the Rose and Garden Festival, you do not have to have an interest in roses or gardens to enjoy or attend the evening – all you need is to want to have a fun and have a beautiful night out.”

Sarez Entertainment CEO Andrew Sarakinis, who will be hosting the evening with Ms Kelly, said attendees can expect their night to also include “the best” music and the chance to win a cash prize in the monster raffle, plus a mini raffle with additional vouchers and cash prizes.

“If I am in charge of the entertainment, which will be DJs and fantastic music, those attending can definitely expect a fun night out,” he said.

“There will be a lot of dancing, a lot of sing-alongs – it’s just a fantastic opportunity for Riverlanders to dress up, come out to a fantastic venue like the Renmark Club, have some great food and share a lot of laughs.

Guests of the gala are also asked to ‘dress to impress’, with the committee also searching for their third Riverland Rose. Ms Kelly said floral themed dresses, hats and headpieces are highly encouraged for those intending to be crowned and win an additional array of prizes.

“We are looking for an outfit that is themed, but also classic and fashionable,” she said.

“Hats and accessories can really help a potential Riverland Rose stand out.”

Mr Sarakinis said he was “beyond excited” to be involved with an event so important to the tradition of the festival.

“The Gala Dinner is such a unique event, and something that has been part of the Rose Festival for many years – it’s great to be part of something so important and brings such a vibrant energy to the region,” he said.

“We almost lost the Rose Festival this year– so, we welcome everyone to come out and support this fantastic event and ensure it can continue.”

Tickets are $110 per person, including a complementary drink of choice, a three-course meal curated by Andy Symeonakis, door prizes, entertainment and cash prizes, vouchers and raffles.
