THE Waikerie Post Office was forced to close this morning due to a chemical spill.
A Waikerie CFS spokesman said the chemical spill occurred when a container inside a parcel split.
The incident happened at about 9am and the post office was closed until 11.30am.
The CFS cordoned off an area of the footpath in front of the Waikerie Post Office, while the spill was cleaned up and the premises made safe.
Waikerie CFS, SAPOL and SA Ambulance attended the scene.
A police spokesperson said three people who experienced mild symptoms following the chemical spill were taken to Waikerie hospital by SA Ambulance.
It is understood investigations are still continuing.
