$35k grant fuels new junior speedway

YOUNG riders in the region will gain a new pathway into local speedway racing, following the announcement of a $35,000 grant for the Riverland Speedway.

The $35,000 is part of the State Government Car Club grant, which fast-tracked applications to increase participation, improve safety and deliver expanded community events.

Riverland Speedway president Geoff Higgs said, “the grant came about after the club was alerted to the opportunity by Tim Whetstone’s office”.

“We moved forward from there, with the necessary paperwork, got all our information in line and applied,” he said.
