TRAVELLING over the border to face off against Sunraysia, Loxton had a successful Saturday night in hockey, earning a 3-1 A grade men’s victory.
The Tigers were in complete control from start to finish, and it was Jay Botten who flourished, finding the back of the net on two occasions.
Botten’s brace was brought about by strong link-up play from Loxton, including brother Tayte, and Cody Hennig providing strong performances.
In what was a disappointing result on home turf for Sunraysia, the performance from Charlie Baird was an admirable one. 
The Tigers’ B grade side were involved in somewhat of an intraclub battle, playing off against Loxton Punjab.
But it was Punjab who suffered a 4-2 defeat, in what was a strong display from the Loxton team.
It was an even spread for Loxton in the win, having four separate contributors, but it was Todd Griffin who stole the headlines.
Griffin was superb across the entirety of Friday evening’s match, and was one of the four to put his name on the scoresheet.
Elsewhere, a high-scoring battle between Berri and Waikerie went the way of the Demons, who enjoyed a 4-3 victory.
Scott Moldovan was ultimately the dominant force in the game, finishing with a hat-trick, as Berri outlasted the Knights.
Waikerie’s Rowan Hope was an exciting force for his side, scoring twice, but it was ultimately a bridge too far.
A grade women’s action also saw Berri take out a 2-1 victory over the Knights following goals from Ella Rothe and Dakota O’Callaghan.
It finished level between Sunraysia and Loxton in an entertaining contest on Saturday evening over the border.
Renmark’s B grade women’s outfit had the greatest winning margin of the weekend, with the Blues taking out a 9-0 victory.
