Lellmann crowned writers’ best

RENMARK favourite son Lachlan Lellmann took home The Murray Pioneer Writers’ Award at Monday night’s Whillas Medal count.
Returning home to the Kennel after a season with Balranald, the son of a gun produced an incredibly consistent season for the Rovers, helping his side to a first-place finish.
Lellmann spends time all over the ground, but found his way into The Murray Pioneer Team of the Year in the wing position.
Lellmann also hit the scoreboard with nine goals across the campaign, and his 35-vote season saw him finish six votes ahead of fellow Rover Nick Gillard, while Barmera-Monash defender Justin Bonney rounded out the top three.
If the Rovers are to taste glory this Saturday afternoon, Lellmann will need a stellar performance on his home turf.
