A LOXTON resident has put a call out to the local community after his vehicle was stolen and found torched on the side of the road on Monday morning.
Loxton MFS station officer Michael Biele said two cyclists had come across the ute in full blaze on the corner of Gosse Avenue and Habel Road in Loxton around 6.30am, and reported it to the local authorities.
Mr Biele said firefighters were quick to extinguish the fire and there were no injuries.
It was later discovered that the vehicle had been stolen from a Loxton North property sometime between Saturday, June 13, at 3pm and Monday, June 15, at 6am, along with three motorbikes, an engraved silver watch, and a number of other items.
The vehicle’s owners Michael Donhardt and Teressa Adams said if anyone has any information about the incident and the other belongings’ whereabouts, to contact the police.
“If the community sees anything suspicious, make sure they report it straight away so things like this don’t happen,” Mr Donhardt said.
“I obviously can’t replace my ute, but I’d like to have my stuff back and (see) police action taken.”
