Police defend long-weekend highway traffic diversion… DETOUR DRAMA

A police traffic detour around a fatal crash at Annadale on Friday saw lengthy and “frustrating” delays for motorists travelling to the Riverland. Three drivers heading to Barmera, Glossop and Waikerie respectively were forced to wait at the Swan Reach ferry for hours. A bus travelling across the ferry got stuck for over 45 minutes, further extending wait times.
