Woodrow says ‘Support Ya Local’

A YOUNG Riverland entrepreneur has started his own campaign recently after receiving an “overwhelming amount of support” from locals.
Renmark’s Nathan Woodrow, creator and owner of Ryde Clothing, described his Support Ya Local campaign as a “big part of the business”.
“The Support Ya Local message is something that’ll continue for the lifetime of Ryde Clothing,” he said.
“Instead of calling it a campaign, I would call it one of the brand values, to encourage young people to support local and support each other.
“It’s something I’ll continue to promote for the lifetime of the brand and now more than ever we need to be helping each other where we can.”
Mr Woodrow, who opened his first store in Renmark’s Lefty’s Mall last year, said it was a “cool experience” to see so many people come in and support him.
“My store in Lefty’s Mall was my first-ever shop and it ran for five months,” he said.
“After it closed, I had plans to move the store to 141 Murray Avenue – in the old Renmark Flower House store – last month, however as soon as COVID-19 hit, I knew it wasn’t possible to make the move straight away.
“The campaign has played a big part of keeping me going without a shop and I’m grateful for that.”
Mr Woodrow said he has collaborated with other businesses with his campaign.
“I’ve been able to spread the message of supporting local businesses by collaborating with well-established names, such as the Woolshed Brewery, Arrosto Coffee, Yates Menswear and the Dinghy Derby,” he said.
“The feedback has been unreal and the amount of people who really enjoy what I’m doing with Ryde Clothing is a big driver in keeping me inspired with what to do next with the brand.”
