Woman ploughs into Renmark store front

A RENMARK store front had an unexpected visit from one local on Monday night.
Renmark and Berri MFS, Renmark and Paringa SES, SAPOL and SAAS crews were called to Ral Ral Avenue around 5pm when a woman jumped the curb and ploughed her Mitsubishi Wagon into a concrete structure between two shopfronts.
MFS Renmark firefighter Cameron McNaughton said the woman was briefly assessed by MFS personnel before she was taken to the Riverland General Hospital with no serious injuries.
He said emergency crew members contained a small, fluid leak from the drain, and inspected the structural integrity of the building, but found no structural damage had occurred.
However, MFS and SES personnel did liaise to apply a temporary barrier to prevent further damage and ensure public safety until a glazier could attend the scene.
A South Australia Police spokesperson said the vehicle was towed away from the scene, and as is protocol in these circumstances, the woman would have blood work taken to determine her blood alcohol level at the time of the accident.
