Wider community to have say on Berri Barmera CBD plan

LOCAL residents are able to have their say on the Berri Barmera Council’s plan to revitalise the central business districts in both towns after a draft of the plan was released for public consultation earlier this month.
Some of the key projects in the plan include further greening in both Berri and Barmera, further pop-up retail and food van opportunities in Berri, and the development of a master plan for the Lake Bonney lake front.
The council has undertaken consultation with a range of local businesses and stakeholders, including two public community workshops held in March.
Council chief executive officer Karyn Burton said the council had made a “significant number of changes” based on feedback received through stakeholder consultation.
“The consultation we’ve done previously has been more condensed and focused, so this public consultation allows the wider community to make comment,” she said.
The public consultation on the draft Berri Barmera CBD Revitilisation Plan ends at 12 noon on Monday, August 24, with feedback to be considered by elected members at the August ordinary council meeting.
