What to do with Westpac building?

LOCALS have been encouraged to provide feedback regarding the future use of a prominent vacant river-front building in Renmark.
Renmark Paringa Council last week opened community consultations regarding the former Westpac building at 180 Murray Avenue.
A Renmark Paringa Council spokesperson said the consultation would remain open to public submissions until 9am on Thursday, December 24.
“Please read the community consultation document which is available on our website prior to submitting feedback,” the spokesperson said.
“We look forward to hearing your thoughts on this exciting opportunity.”
Westpac confirmed in March it would vacate the building in order to occupy a shared space with BankSA.
Renmark Paringa councillors then passed a motion at the March general meeting to develop an expression of interest for market regarding an “innovative long-term future use” of the building.
Riverlanders seeking to provide feedback to the consultation are encouraged to visit the website (https://www.renmarkparinga.sa.gov.au/council/consultation?fbclid=IwAR31Sc-7Avj9Y81r5VP9_iEUiKs5D6P2A0g1dxQaGc2MbtbDL6-xjrAr5Dw).
