Sparks fly at footy fundraiser

RIVERLAND tradies will be raising funds for the Riverland Football League (RFL) this season.
Sparkies from around the Riverland faced-off in a handball competition as part of the Kicking Goals campaign launch at Berri on Friday.
Electrical supplier Lawrence and Hansen, Berri, is donating up to 6 per cent of proceeds to the RFL from sales of certain products.
SANFL representative Shane Uren said the money would be “a much-needed shot in the arm for the RFL”.
“Last year was very challenging and I’m sure the clubs will appreciate the financial help that the donation will provide,” Mr Uren said.
Every month a new winner will be announced throughout the footy season.
The fundraiser is set to conclude with a cheque to be presented on RFL grand final day, Saturday, September 11.
The current leaderboard is tied between Matt Mazzini, of SA Water, and Shane Foxscord, of Smart Tech Electrical.
Sparkies and builders from around the Riverland are encouraged to take part in the competition across this year’s footy season.
