Same service, new spot for newsagency

RESIDENTS of a Riverland town will have access to an expanded newsagency when two local businesses amalgamate next month.
Management of the Renmark Newsagency – located on Renmark Avenue – last week announced the business would be absorbed by the Renmark Plaza Newsagency from July 1.
Renmark Plaza Newsagency operator Jane Evans said all orders and deliveries from the previous location would be carried over.
“We’ll have all the same services available, and the same staff, because we’re taking the staff across with us,” Mrs Evans said.
“The only difference will be the different location, and we’ll be open seven days a week.
“All the mail deliveries and everything else will be exactly the same, (and) all orders will be carried forward.
“It will still be privately owned, and we’ll still have Lotto and all those services.”
The Renmark Avenue premises has been a newsagency operated by various families, but was also previously a deli run by the Thompson family.
Mrs Evans said combining the newsagencies would allow the business to provide a larger range of products and services for customers.
“We’ve had the Plaza Newsagency for 13 years… (and) we saw the opportunity to get a bigger range of magazines and other things,” she said.
Copies of the Murray Pioneer can still be purchased in the Renmark CBD from Koch’s Foodland, and the Murray Pioneer office, both on Ral Ral Avenue.
