Salena Estate to have something for everyone this weekend

SALENA Estate and Cucina 837 will be one of the places to be this weekend during the Riverland Wine and Food Festival, with a range of events providing something for everyone, no matter what their preferences are.
On Friday night, the winery will host kick-off drinks under the stars, utilising its expansive outdoor space, while on Saturday a wine master class, four-course long lunch, and all-day music and street food will give attendees plenty of choice on how to spend their day, before a relaxed ‘recovery lunch’ on Sunday.
Salena Estate marketing manager Salena Franchitto, who will be hosting the wine masterclass, said the variety of events would “give people options” about what experience they wanted.
“We get a lot of people who come up from Adelaide for this event, and we want to give them the choice to have those wine-focused elements, but if you do want to just get a bottle of wine and sit in the sun and enjoy some music, you can do that too,” she said.
“For the people who are serious about wine or want to learn more about it, I’ll be hosting the masterclass in the morning from 11 to 11.45am, with tickets are available through our Facebook page or Eventbrite.
“I’ll be going through some of our new release wines, which is super exciting, and it will be the first chance to see some of those wines in the lead-up to their release date.
“We have a long lunch as well for people who want something more prestigious and to sit down and not have to think about what to order.
“They can choose to pair the food with wines as well or they can just purchase drinks as they go.
“For those who just want to come and chill, we’ll have all-day music and street food outside.
“We’ll be bringing back our frosés as well, which were super popular last year at the festival and sold out over the long weekend.”
Ms Franchitto said she “really liked” the new format with venues across the Riverland hosting their own events.
“It gives people who are coming up the chance to see places that they normally wouldn’t get to when they come up for that weekend,” she said.
“It will be similar to Crush Festival or Winter Reds in the Adelaide Hills where you get to go around to a few different places and I hope that the people who come up do try and see a couple of different places.
“We are spoilt for choice up here now – there are so many cool places to go and things to try.
“We have such good produce as well, like wine, gin, coffee and food, so I hope they get a chance to experience it all.”
