Rubbish fire burns out of control in Cobdogla

THREE CFS crews were called to an unattended rubbish fire in Cobdogla Tuesday night at the request of the Berri Barmera Council.
CFS Chaffey group officer Adrian Wright said the fire was described to be around 100 metres by 60 metres in size and burning quite considerably.
Mr Wright said he believes the fire included an illegal substance, which left a “toxic smell” in the air.
It took the three crews from Monash, Glossop and Barmera, and a bolt water carrier to extinguish the blaze, and it is yet unknown who started the blaze.
