Rotarians awarded for long-standing service

THREE Rotarians were awarded for their service to their club and the wider community at the Rotary Club of Loxton’s recent celebration dinner.
Rotary Club of Loxton past president Jim West officially inaugurated Loxton Rotarian Richard Fogden as an honorary member of the club, as well as presented Loxton Rotarian and past president Dennis Ludgate with the 2020 President’s Award and Loxton Rotarian Dawn Fielke with the Paul Harris Fellow award for their service as a Rotarian in the Loxton community.
Rotary Club of Loxton president Jenny Mills said the night was dedicated to recognising the many achievements of those Rotarians who demonstrated ‘service above self’ within the community.
“Being a Rotarian opens many opportunities for service, and personal satisfaction,” she said.
“It is always a privilege to recognise the various achievements of Rotarians and others in their service to our community, (including) honouring the life and service of Dr Ian McInnes OAM - Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Loxton.”
Rotary Club district governor elect David Jones said members of the Rotary Club of Loxton were a “fantastic” group of dedicated individuals, who are widely respected for the work they do in the community, and he looked forward to seeing more of that work come from the club in the future.
“Our acts of service, big and small, create opportunities for people who need our help,” he said.
“Together, we’d like to be seen as people of action, (and) the Rotary Club of Loxton are very much people of action, and do a lot for the community.”
