RFL praises efforts of clubs and spectators

THE Riverland Football League (RFL) have thanked all supporters and players for their strict adherence to social distancing protocols so far this season.
The message comes as all six clubs continue to meet all the rules and guidelines put in place to allow a season to happen.
RFL chairman Shane Uren was full of praise for the work done by all clubs so far this season.
“We want to congratulate all the RFL clubs on how they have handled the season thus far as we are almost at the end,” he said.
“We had the sudden need to implement COVID Marshals last week and I have had feedback from SAPOL that all clubs were checked and everyone is ticking all the right boxes.
“The clubs have done a great job with the way their canteens and stuff like that are operating.
“I have received really positive feedback with clubs having hand sanitiser available and social distancing markers.
“That way when people are going up to get food, the clubs have got measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety.”
Mr Uren also thanked spectators who have attended the football this year.
“We would also like to thank the Riverland football public for the way they are getting better and better at adhering to social distancing, it has been really, really good,” he said.
“We also want to remind the public that if a COVID Marshall does ask them to remember the social distancing rules that allow us to keep operating, that they are just volunteers and they are doing their bit to make sure we can complete the rest of the 2020 season.”
Mr Uren reminded people to avoid complacency as finals approach and larger crowds are expected.
“We are looking at numbers to possibly swell a little bit, so bring your own deck chair,” he said.
“A few grandstands have been pretty much closed off, so bring your deck chair, because as the weather continues to get better, it’s nice to sit out and enjoy the sunshine and watch the footy.
“We want people to be enjoying the footy and create a great atmosphere all around the oval.”
