Reptiles and nature on show

CELEBRATION of arts and local artists is in full swing this month, with several exhibitions open across the Riverland – including a display running in tandem with the statewide arts festival for the 23rd year in a row.
Riverland artists Liz and Clint Frankel have been involved with the SA Living Arts (SALA) Festival every year during its 23-year history, and Mrs Frankel said each festival was a “great opportunity” to create a new body of work.
“Our new SALA exhibition at Riverglen View Art Studio, Fragile Nature, features new glass and canvas artworks by Clint and myself,” she said.
“This year, we have also created a separate exhibition for a SALA at the Chaffey Theatre, entitled Reptile Wonders.”
Mrs Frankel said the opening day at Riverglen was a “great success”, with a bus dropping off a large group of visitors celebrating a birthday.
“A bus full of lovely local ladies enjoyed morning tea and a tour of our gallery, which was a great way to kick off SALA 2020,” she said.
“They all enjoyed their freshly baked scones on the deck in the spectacular winter sunshine.
“It’s great to see visitors returning to our region and calling in to see our gallery. We are enjoying lots of regular local guests to our studio too.”
Riverglen View Art Studio is open for pre-booked visits, and Mrs Frankel said they are maintaining COVID-19 restrictions.
“We just ask that people give us a call to arrange a suitable time to visit, and during these unusual times we need to maintain social distancing,” she said.
“Our little gallery limits the number of people we can have inside at one time, but we are still looking forward to seeing many locals and tourists who can enjoy the artwork, a cuppa or glass of local wine, and take in the stunning river views.”
Riverglen View Art Studio is located on Nitschke Road, Good Hope Landing. To arrange a visit, call Liz and Clint on 8589 3123 or visit the Facebook page www.facebook.com/FrankelGlassAndBooks/.
