Peter’s perfect picture

BERRI Senior Citizens Club member Peter Cumic was recognised in a national photography competition late last year for an image he captured of the Berri river front.
Mr Cumic, who is also a member of the Riverland Camera Club, participated in the Australian Seniors Computer Clubs Association (ASCCA) Digital Photography Competition and was “highly commended” in the landscape/seascape category.
The competition, which is open to all Senior Citizens Club members, was conducted online due to COVID-19 instead of at its annual conference in Sydney.
Mr Cumic said he was proud of his efforts.
“I got an email in November that had my certificate in it and I felt very happy,” he said.
“I’ve always been interested in photography but it wasn’t until five years ago when I bought a decent camera and learnt how to use it.
“I joined the Riverland Camera Club and from there I was able to further my skills.”
Mr Cumic said he enjoyed taking part in the competition.
“I participated in the competition in 2019 and actually did better back then,” he said.
“In that year, I was able to go to the conference in Sydney and that was good.
“Although this year was different and online, I was able to participate in my own home.”
Mr Cumic encouraged locals to join the Berri Senior Citizens Club and participate in opportunities that arise.
