RENMARK residents now have greater access to important pathology services, after SA Pathology extended its opening hours at a local medical clinic.
Starting last week, the service is available at the Renmark Medical Clinic on weekdays from 8.30am to 4.30pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 12 noon.
Renmark Medical Clinic practice manager Rebecca Stokes said the extended hours would provide significant benefits for the local community.
“We were finding that patients were having to travel to Berri if they couldn’t get to the clinic between 8.30am and 12.30pm, so being able to have those hours extended is making the service more accessible for people in Renmark,” she said.
“Opening on Saturdays will be beneficial for our working patients as well.
“For the elderly, it is great for them to not have to travel to Berri to have those tests done.
“I think it also shows great initiative from SA Pathology to be able to have those conversations with us because they are very keen to keep the service in Renmark.
“Outside of Berri we have the busiest SA Pathology clinic in the region so to make that more available to our patients is great, especially if they are here seeing the doctor and need those blood tests done in the afternoon.”
