Only Australia Day fireworks in the state… Spectacular

TICKETS are now available for the biggest annual event on Waikerie’s calendar.
Waikerie Australia Day Spectacular organisers say the family-friendly event will culminate with the traditional fireworks display.
Committee spokesperson Gary Pfeiler said as the event has been organised along COVID-19 restrictions, only pre-ordered tickets will be accepted at the gate.
“There’s a limited number of seats available, and they’re going to run out fast, so pre-order now,” he said.
“No tickets will be available to purchase on the night, and all attendees will be required to wear wristbands that we’ll provide.
“Tables of eight are available and we encourage people to book in groups. Attendees are welcome to bring their own supper, but not drinks; a full bar is available inside the venue.
“COVID-19 health protocols will be in place. We’re asking that attendees keep to their seats as much as possible.”
A full night of entertainment will be on the cards, with live acoustic performances from three local acts, activities for children, and a magician moving about the venue.
“Three Riverland musical acts will provide entertainment over the night: Anne and Ben Leahy, Tristan Kemp, and Kelly Menhennett,” Mr Pfeiler said.
“A jumping castle and face painting will be available for the kids, while another artist will be offering henna tattoos.
“The bar will have a full complement of drinks – including wine from local Grower Wine Group – and food is going to be provided via pre-order.”
With food vans prohibited, the Waikerie Hotel and the Waikerie Club will provide food. Mr Griffiths said all food must be pre-ordered.
“We strongly encourage people to pre-order their food along with their tickets,” he said.
“The event is going to be a real game-changer; we’ve made a lot of concessions to meet the current climate, and we think it’s going to be a really spectacular night.
“We’re the only Australia Day event in SA that will have fireworks, and we’re planning on making it the biggest display yet.”
Tickets are available to purchase now at $10 per person from Walk on Water, with only cash accepted.
