No netball in 2020

NO competitive netball will be held in the Riverland this year following two major announcements last week.
Both the Riverland Netball Association (RNA) and Riverland Independent Netball Association (RINA) officially cancelled their respective seasons due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding COVID-19.
In a statement posted on Facebook on Thursday night, RNA president Jessie Miller said the decision was based on feedback received from clubs.
“The Riverland Netball Association executive committee met Thursday, May 28, to review and discuss club responses in regard to participating in season 2020,” she said.
“Acting on the responses from our eight clubs and taking into consideration their concerns regarding the health and wellbeing of players, officials, volunteers and spectators, financial difficulties and the constantly changing expectations on everyone, the majority of clubs were not able to proceed.
“As a result, the RNA executive committee made the difficult decision to not proceed with the 2020 season.
