A MORGAN ambulance volunteer has been recognised for his exceptional and significant service to SAAS and his community.
Morgan-based SA Ambulance Service volunteer team leader David Lodge received a Volunteer Distinguished Service Award for his service to SAAS in and around his community over the past five years.
SAAS country operations executive director Julia Waddington-Powell said David has “worked tirelessly” to recruit, train and nurture new volunteers.
“David exemplifies the dedication of volunteers in South Australia,” she said.
“He has been the lifeblood of the Morgan station for the past five years, ensuring that the service provided there has continued.
“He has displayed exceptional commitment and service, not only in his individual role as a volunteer, but to the entire Morgan ambulance team and the community it serves.
“As an ambulance officer, David makes himself available for the local roster at least three nights each and every week.
“I congratulate David on this well-deserved honour and thank him for his continuing dedication and service to SAAS and to his community.”
Mr Lodge was awarded the Premier’s Certificate of Recognition for Outstanding Volunteer Service in 2019, which rewards significant achievement among SA volunteers. He was nominated by SAAS line manager Jason Hughes and Murray Mallee operations manager Gary Pentland, who said Mr Lodge was a hard worker with respect among his team and peers.
