Mobile COVID-19 testing clinic deployed at Yamba Station

A NEW mobile testing clinic near the South Australian-Victorian border is aimed at stopping anyone carrying COVID-19 from entering the Riverland.
SA Pathology mobile COVID-19 testing clinics were deployed at Yamba Quarantine Station and other points of the South Australian border last week, following the unauthorised entry of three Victorian travellers into the Riverland.
SA Pathology clinical director Dr Tom Dodd said providing accessible and efficient testing methods would be vital to preventing further coronavirus outbreaks in the state.
“Three mobile testing clinics have been setup at key border crossings at Bordertown, Mount Gambier and Yamba to further strengthen SA Pathology’s already robust response to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr Dodd said.
“The vans are specifically for South Australians entering the state from Victoria and are not available for routine swabbing of individuals living locally.
“The flexibility of the mobile testing vans means we can take testing straight to the border which is an important tool given the current outbreak in Victoria.”
