Loxton welcomes new Pastor Jeff to the Church

THE Loxton Christian community welcomed a new addition to one of the town’s churches in a formal initiation ceremony recently.
Members of the local community gathered at the Living Waters Christian Community Church to see Pastor Jeff McGregor pledge his loyalty to the Loxton district.
Mr McGregor said he had been called to the faith years prior, and felt that it was a mixture between life and the will of God that spurred him towards pastorship.
“When I was born again and became a Christian, I felt a real passion for God’s word and for his people,” he said.
“So just through my life experiences and understanding what Christ has done and what it means to be a part of the church, I thought ‘maybe this is something I want to look into as something to pursue’.
“It was just his leading and me being obedient to what he’s asking me to do.”
Mr McGregor moved from Victoria to Loxton back in March, just before the coronavirus pandemic began, when there was no longer a job available for him at his previous church.
He said, however, “God had opened the doors for him and led him to Loxton”, where he hopes he can spread the message of Christ to others.
“It’s not really what I want to achieve, the question is really what does God want this church to achieve in Loxton?” he said.
“And that is to see Christ’s name proclaimed, (and) to see churches joining together in unity to show the church cares, the church is relevant and we have answers to questions that people can’t answer for you.”
