Loxton Hotel gets a face-lift

A POPULAR Riverland hotel has completed the first stage of extensive renovations, with the Loxton Hotel unveiling a new café, gaming room and bistro kitchen, alongside upgraded dining rooms.
Loxton Hotel general manager Darren Morrison said the renovation was “fantastic”.
“It’s very modern and fresh, but it also still keeps the character of the hotel,” he said.
The hotel engaged with local contractors for the upgrades, with Berri-based company Michael Kregar Building taking on the renovations.
“The work that they have done has been really good,” Mr Morrison said.
“It’s been great that lots of local tradies have been involved.
“It’s definitely worth it for people to come by and have a look at the renovations.
“Everyone who comes in is just blown away by how good the new additions are.
“We’ve had people from all over the Riverland and visitors to the region having a look as well, so it’s been really popular and everyone is really excited about it.”
The hotel’s board voted at its last meeting to continue with stage two of the renovation, with Michael Kregar Building reappointed to the project.
The second stage will involve the construction of two additional bistro dining rooms and a new sports bar.
“Obviously the shutdown due to COVID-19 put us behind a little bit,” Mr Morrison said.
“We’re working through it at the minute with the builders and the architects, but I think within the next couple of months we will start with the second stage of the renovations.”
