Local Zonta club’s International Women’s Day guest

RILEY WALTER
THE Zonta Club of the Riverland will welcome a South Australian MP as part of its celebrations for International Women’s Day.
Member for Reynell and Opposition spokesperson for women, Katrine Hildyard will be the guest speaker at this year’s dinner to be held at the Berri Hotel on Tuesday, March 9.
Zonta Club president, Arunika Hamden, said Ms Hildyard was a fitting representative of this year’s theme, which is ‘Women in leadership: Achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world’.
“She is a great campaigner for social justice, human rights, women’s rights…” Miss Hamden said.
“She’s going to come and tell us her story and what it is that… inspires her and gives her the passion to continue to do what she does.”
The Zonta Club is hoping for a large turnout to assist with its fundraising that allows projects, such as the birthing kits that are sent to developing countries, to continue. It encourages both men and women to attend.
Anyone interested in attending the event should RSVP to Miss Hamden on 0404 053 885 by midday today.
