Library reopens as community restrictions eased

RIVERLANDERS are again able to attend a local library as restrictions from the COVID-19 emergency continue to be eased.
Renmark Paringa Council last week announced the Renmark Paringa Library would reopen for members of the public – with a current maximum capacity of 10 people – after its services had been restricted due to the coronavirus emergency.
Renmark Paringa director of corporate and community services Tim Pfeiffer said local residents were eager to visit the library again.
“Everyone’s been fantastic about it,” Mr Pfeiffer said.
“People, especially the regulars, are thrilled to be coming back to the library, but they’re doing it in a safe way.
“Everyone’s maintaining social distancing and following the other provisions from the State Government.”
Computers and photocopying services at the library are still unable to be used by members of the public.
Mr Pfeiffer said the library would also continue to offer its online click and collect option, with all books quarantined for 72 hours after being returned.
“We are still strongly encouraging people to use the click and collect service,” he said.
“But for people who want to come in, come in. We welcome you.”
