Let there be light…at Ramco

PHOTOGRAPHY enthusiasts – artists and spectators alike – are invited to attend a free light painting workshop at Ramco this weekend to learn how to capture visually stunning photos.
The Waikerie Photography Club and Light Painting Australia have collaborated for a light painting event at Ramco Lagoon this Saturday from 6pm.
Event organiser Connie Little said anyone can join in, including those without a camera or tripod.
“If you’ve never done light painting, or don’t have a camera, please come along anyway and watch the magic unfold,” she said.
“There will be people to help ‘newbies’ and some equipment to borrow – not including cameras and lenses – but if you have any glow-in-the-dark toys, feel free to bring them along to use.”
The free workshop will explore the rising popularity of light painting, created with cameras and image sharing.
Ms Little said the workshop would begin with a sunset session and catch-up, followed by individual light painting, with instructors on hand to assist.
“We will meet at the Ramco Lagoon boardwalk at 6pm, since we should be able to get the nearly full moon in some shots from this side of the lagoon,” she said.
“People are encouraged to come along and join in the fun or just simply to watch... please wear dark clothes in case you get captured in a light painting, as well as old shoes.
“The most important thing about light painting is to have fun and inspire.
“We want everyone to have a great time, learn something new or teach and inspire others, make some new friends and share ideas.”
The light painting workshop will begin at 6pm at Ramco Lagoon this Saturday. Participants are asked to arrive before then to set up.
