Kick off just weeks away

THE Riverland Soccer Association (RSA) has confirmed it will begin a revised 2020 season later this month despite ongoing uncertainty for many other sports.
The RSA will begin its season on June 28, after it was originally scheduled to start earlier this year on Sunday, April 26.
In a statement posted on Facebook last week, RSA president Michael Cartwright said the association’s executive committee had devised a plan for the 2020 season, however he acknowledged it would be subject to government restrictions.
“Tonight the RSA executive committee met and have confirmed fixtures for the 2020 Riverland Soccer season,” he said.
“We will commence on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
“Final fixturing will be subject to review pending a request for information from the State Government by Football SA.
“For now, we ask all players to contact their club and commence registration for season 2020.
“Our fixtures will consist of a 12-week season, followed by a Top 4 cup.
“This year we will be playing during school holiday periods to ensure the competition is completed in a timely manner.
“Please review your clubs Facebook page for more information on training times and conditions.
“We appreciate everyone’s patience in this trying time and ask this continues as we implement a safe return to competitive sport in the Riverland.
“Please monitor our Facebook page for more updates throughout the month.”
