Jakam’s old-school hit

A LOCAL blues rock musician and singer-songwriter released his debut single Way You Walk recently.
Cobdogla’s Jakam Kourasanis delivers a fresh mix of blues and rock in his single – released on May 1, 2020 – and solely wrote and performed every instrument in it, which he also produced himself from his home studio.
“I should’ve been born in the ’50s as my musical influences stem from when blues and rock evolved,” he said.
“I wrote Way You Walk in 2019... it’s about a girl, but no particular girl… it’s not a love song, it’s a lust song.
“The majority of the song was written with my Mexican Tele, and I used my Gretsch Jet for rhythm.
“The leads run during the verses were inspired by the signature sound of Chuck Berry, Angus Young and Keith Richards… with a bit of Status Quo and Rose Tattoo in there as well.”
Mr Kourasanis said his passion for music started at a young age.
“I picked up my first guitar at the age of five,” he said.
“My dad is a sound engineer so music was basically in my veins.
“Growing up in the Riverland there wasn’t much to do other than play music.
“When my dad showed me a VHS of music from ACDC when I was young, I just knew that I wanted to spend my life performing and making music.”
Way You Walk has received multiple hits on Spotify and Soundcloud and has been played on various radio stations throughout South Australia.
Mr Kourasanis looks forward to furthering his music career by writing more hits and eventually getting out of home and go professional.
