Groceries on-the-go

TWO Riverland supermarkets are offering delivery services for Riverland residents after new restrictions have kept most people indoors.
Renmark and Loxton Foodland stores have always offered its service to locals, but now more than ever, they are witnessing its need in the community.
Residents need only email their grocery orders through either store’s email before lunchtime to have it delivered at their door the very next day.
Wife to Grenfell Koch, who owns the Foodland stores, Slavka Koch ensured all food, health and safety regulations were being upkept during this time.
“We use the agreement with the Riverland taxi service (Express X), and they do the actual delivery,” Ms Koch said.
“There is (also) no cash exchanged whatsoever – it’s card payment only.
“So, when we ring them, they can give us their card details and we process the transaction straight away.”
Ms Koch said they are happy to provide the service, but remind residents that stock supply is out of the store’s control.
“Grenfell is working very hard to source product as much as he can, but it’s not in our control how much we’re receiving,” she said.
“We’re still using local produce and suppliers, and Grenfall is going above and beyond getting stuff like flour and different things.
“He’s out there trying to source everything all the time.”
Residents are reminded that the Riverland supermarkets are open from 6am, seven days a week, for people who want to come in early and avoid the crowds.
Those who are unable to do so and wish to use the delivery service are asked to email their order, name, phone number and address to loxton@kochs.com.au or renmark@kochs.com.au.
