Funding allocated for East Terrace Toilets

MORE than $600,000 has been allocated to the development of Loxton’s East Terrace public toilets, with the new designs set to feature television screens inside the blocks, as well as seating and landscaping around its exterior.
The District Council of Loxton Waikerie set a $685,000 budget for the project at its meeting on Friday, which would see a complete rebuild of the town’s public amenities.
District Council of Loxton Waikerie CEO David Beaton said there was no denying the East Terrace toilets need an overhaul.
“These amenities within our CBD are used by locals and visitors every day, so it’s important they are not only accessible, but also a pleasant environment,”
he said.
“Our working group has put in a lot of time and effort to ensure Loxton’s new building meets the needs of people now and into the future.
“By setting a budget, we are on important step closer to realising this goal in Loxton.”
The project’s working group will continue to discuss options for the McCoy Street toilets in Waikerie.
