From the RFL to AFL grand final

FORMER Berri Football Club junior Rhys Stanley will live out his boyhood dream this weekend when he takes the field for the AFL grand final.
Stanley and Geelong shook off their recent struggles in preliminary finals to record a 40-point win over Brisbane at the Gabba on Saturday night to progress to the grand final.
Geelong will face Richmond in this weekend’s decider at the Gabba, with the game kicking off at 7pm.
Rhys’ mother Andrea said the feeling was “indescribable” when the Cats defeated the Lions on Saturday night to progress to the big dance.
“It was very exciting and a bit surreal,” she said.
“It was elation that they have got there and the talk of them not being able to make a grand final is over.
