Four new potential names announced for Glossop High

A NUMBER of potential new names have been released for public consultation regarding the new name for Glossop High School from 2022, in addition to the four announced last month.
The four possible new names – Berri, Berri Barmera, Howard Mortimer and BeriBeri – have been decided due to recommendations given by the community through the public consultation survey and multiple channels.
Glossop High School principal Emily Griggs said the school’s branding committee has had “excellent” contribution from the public.
“We understand that the shortlist of names we announced last month seemed a bit pretentious and developed a lot of talk across the community,” she said.
“This is why we created our public consultation and encouraged locals to provide us with feedback.
“The school’s branding focus group took in the responses and came up with names that involve the community.”
Mrs Griggs said the public consultation period has been extended to October 9, 2020.
“We’ve had a large amount of responses and we want to choose the right name for the school,” she said.
“The branding focus group will analyse all data received to provide the governing council with clear recommendations for the final vote early next term.
“In week 1 next term, we should have come to a decision and in week 2 we hope to announce it to the community.”
Mrs Griggs encouraged the community to have their say through the survey link on the school’s website’s homepage (www.glossophs.sa.edu.au).
