Durdin delisted as Roos cull 11

SAM Durdin’s AFL future looks in doubt after he was one of 11 players delisted by North Melbourne last week.
The announcement was made last Friday after the young key defender had played in the Kangaroos’ 15-point loss to the Eagles the previous night.
Durdin was drafted with pick 16 in the 2014 national draft, however he had to wait until round three, 2017, to make his AFL debut against the Giants.
The 24-year-old went on to play 22 games and kick one goal over the next four seasons.
Durdin uploaded a post to Instagram on Sunday afternoon, thanking the North Melbourne Football Club.
“I grew up on a farm outside of Halidon, a tiny town with less than 10 people in it, with a dream of playing AFL,” he said.
“I’m so honoured and proud to have been the 1000th shinboner to represent North Melbourne.
“Although I’m shattered with the outcome I couldn’t be more grateful to have met some life-long mates along the way.
“Thank you to everyone for the support for the past six years.
“I wish the North Melbourne Football Club the very best in the future and can’t wait to see what the future holds in my life.”
Durdin will now have the chance to be picked up as a delisted free agent, or in the pre-season draft later this year if he chooses to nominate.
