Dedicated midwife to headline women’s event

STEPHANIE THOMPSON
Riverland women, and local nurses in particular, are being urged to come together for a special event on Sunday morning.
The International Women’s Day Breakfast, hosted by the Rotary Club of Loxton, will be held from 8.30am to 10.30am at the Loxton Hotel and features a keynote speaker with a strong nursing and midwifery background.
Rotary Club of Loxton president Jenny Mills encouraged local women to attend the event.
“The benefit of it is that it brings women together in a different environment,” she said.
“It focuses on women’s achievements and allows money to be raised for charity.”
The event, which is organised by Rotary’s International Women’s Day organising committee, is in its seventh year and will feature Pauline Glover as the keynote speaker.
Ms Glover is a senior lecturer and associate professor at Flinders University and developed the first midwifery program in South Australia.
Ms Glover’s experience also includes international midwifery experience.
Full breakfast will be served from 8.45am and tickets are $25 each.
Registration and payment is payable at the Loxton Hotel today.
