Council to seek Alfresco’s feedback at Easter carnival

A LOCAL council will conduct public consultation at an upcoming Easter event to decide what to do with a prominent local building.
Berri Barmera Council will hold a stall at the Berri Traders Easter Carnival this Saturday, seeking feedback from the community on the future use of the Alfresco building on Vaughan Terrace.
The building has served as a meeting place, produce market and café, and has served as a pop-up venue for community events since the previous tenants vacated the premises.
Suggestions previously put forth by elected members include returning it to a café, starting a local produce market or community hub, or demolishing the site and creating a landscaped space.
The public consultation comes as council prepares a growth strategy to guide the future development of the town.
To participate in the public consultation, visit the Berri Barmera Council website (www.berribarmera.sa.gov.au) and complete the online survey or email feedback to talexander@bbc.sa.gov.au.
Consultation closes April 16.
